Hill Botanical is a retail herb shop in Bozeman, MT. We offer Organic and Ethically Wildcarfted bulk herbs, classes, private consultations, personal tea blends, books, a reference library, tools for making herbal products, quality essential oils, and our own line of hand crafted herbal products.
Hill Botanical opened its doors at 204 East Olive St, on Oct 1, 2006. Kris Hill, owner, has been studying plants and plant medicine since 1991. She has a background in anthropology, psychocology, business and retail merchandising. Her herbal studies include studying with Robyn Klein in Bozeman through Montana State University, Dennis McKenna PhD (Ethnopharmacology) and Kathleen Harrison Ethnobotanist through the University of Minnesota in Hawaii and is a graduate of the South West School of Botanical Medicine. June first of 2010, Hill Botanical moved to a new space, 438 East Mendenhall, with Sweetgrass Natural Medicine, Be the Change Yoga Studio, and Katie Cook Massage.

Hill Botanical manufactures 9 varieties of herbal caffeine free tea blends. These teas are available in the shop, on our website, at the Community Food Co-op, Real Food Market and Deli, Good Food Store, Meadowsweet Herbs and at the Hungry Moose Market in Big Sky.
Hill Botanical products are also available on the Big Sky Local Food on line farm to family co-op, serving the folks who live in Big Sky.
Formulating tea blends for other business is another specialty service that Hill Botanical offers. Stop in to either of these fine establishments to try one of the exclusive Hill Botanical Tea blends; The Emerson Grill ( try “Evening at the Emerson”) or The Flying C (“Flying C Blend”).
As a lecturer of plants Kris has taught for:
Big Sky Adult Education, Museum of the Rockies, weekly seminars at Hill Botanical, has lectured at the Community Food Co-op Bozeman, presented at the Montana Native Plant Society meetings, Sacajewea Middle School 6th graders and taught a 7 day course on making plant medicine for the SWSBM. Kris also lectures at Meadowsweet Herbs in Missoula, has taught at the NWSchool of Herbalism, lectured at the local Bozeman Bioneers Conference, taught for the Big Sky Institute, Montana Outdoor Science School, Eagle Mount and more.
Kris has been actively involved with the Non-profit Organization, Montana Herb Gathering. She was on the Board of directors starting in 2006 and President of the board from 2008-2011. Kris resigned from the board in Autumn 2011 to direct morefocus on her family, herbal educating career and business.
